Tiny Teddy Bear Cars

I made these super cute and very yummy Tiny Teddy Cars for my nephews birthday. They were a hit! I got the recipe online here if you want to try to make them for yourself. They were very easy, albeit a bit fiddly. But very fun to make with kids!

I changed a few things when I made them.

  • I used Mars Bars instead of Milky Ways because I don't really like Milky Ways.
  • I didn't add steering wheels because there wasn't any room.
  • I wanted my cars to have all different colored wheels so I didn't bother sorting them out.
  • Instead of using a bag to squeeze out the melted chocolate, I melted the chocolate in a saucepan in another saucepan full of water over the stove and dipped the smarties/teddies in the chocolate and stuck them on. Leaving the chocolate on the stove meant I could warm it up if it started to get hard again.

I had quite a bit of leftover melted chocolate and tiny teddies so I lined a slice tray with baking paper and poured the melted chocolate in there. Then pushed the tiny teddies face up into the chocolate. My partner said it looked like a Tiny Teddy Graveyard, unfortunately I didn't get a photo of this. It was very delicious!

Chocolate Birds Nest Treats

I was extremely busy during March and it showed in the amount of blog posts for last month. Only 1! That has to be some sort of a record for me haha! We are just over a week away from Easter, Have you bought all your chocolates and gifts for family & friends yet?

Have you got your special treats organised to bring along to an Easter party? No!? Well, here is something I want to share with you all. They are so simple to make, look fantastic and most of all taste delicious!

These are just your everyday chocolate spiders with some cute easter chocolate eggs on top! Peanut butter lovers will gobble these up!

Makes: approx 20 (it all depends on how big you make them)

Prep & Cooking time: approx 30mins

Setting time: Min 3hrs

Ingredients:

1 100g packet of Chang's Original Fried Noodles
1 350g block of Cadbury Chocolate
2 Tablespoons of peanut butter
1 Bag of Chocolate Candy Eggs

Instructions:

1. Prepare trays with grease-proof paper

2. Cut or break up all the Cadbury chocolate, then melt it along with the peanut butter in a large saucepan over another saucepan filled with water on the stove.

3. Once this is melted and combined, remove from stove and add in the noodles. Mix very carefully, trying not to break too many of the noodles.

4. Taking a spoon (I use a table spoon) scoop out mixture and place onto prepared tray until all is used.

5. Now you can artisticly arrange your eggs on top of the nests however you like!

6. Put this into the fridge and let it set for at least 3 hrs. ENJOY!

TIP: You can put the chocolate and peanut butter in a microwave safe bowl, then microwave for approx 1min instead of melting it on the stove if you prefer. This way is a lot quicker. Make sure that mixture is smooth before adding in noodles. You may need to reheat if not completely melted.

Have you ever tried making these before? How did it go?

Golfballs recipe

I have loved golfballs ever since I was a kid. I always thought they were really hard to make but they are surprisingly easy. The reason I thought they were hard is because my mum never had a food processor so the biscuits had to get broken up in a bowl with a mallet, which let me tell you, takes AGES!

I don't have a food processor either and I used to do it the same as my mum, but I found a way to break up the biscuits quickly and easily without a food processor. I put the biscuits in a ziploc bag and then step all over them! Ok, Ok you may think that's weird but it works! You can also use a rolling pin if you like instead because that also works haha!

Makes: approx 25 - 30 (all depends on how big you make your balls)

Prep time: approx 30mins

Setting time: approx 30mins

Ingredients:

1 250g pack of Marie biscuits
1/2 cup of dessicated coconut (plus more coconut for rolling in)
2 tablsepoons of cocoa
1 tin 395g sweetend condensed milk

Instructions:

1. Crush up all the biscuits whichever way you like (or you can do it like me) then put into a big bowl.

2. Add the cocoa and coconut, mix then add the condensed milk and mix some more. This is your golfball mixture.

3. Put some extra coconut in a seperate bowl ready for the rolling.

4. Using a teaspoon, scoop small amounts of mixture and roll into balls with your hands. Then roll in the coconut bowl.

5. Do this until all mixture is used. You will need to continually wash your hands because they get a bit sticky unless you wear gloves.

6. Set aside balls on a tray already lined with baking paper and then put them in the fridge for approx 30mins.

7. Enjoy!

This is such a simple recipe and they are delicious! Perfect for kids and also fun for them to make with you.

Do you have a favourite food you loved as a kid?

D.I.Y Christmas

There's isn't long til Christmas so I thought I'd share a few D.I.Y Christmas ideas I found through pinterest. I haven't had a chance to try anyone of these yet but there's always next year! Enjoy!

~ These are so adorable and such a simple gift idea, who doesn't like chocolate?

~ Kids love the magic of Christmas and this is a fun craft idea to help bring Santa to life. Leave a key for him to get into your house instead of coming down the chimney (or if you don't have a chimney)

~ A very cute and easy gift for hot chocolate lovers.

~ Sick of the boring christmas wrapping? The above link will take you to a blog with lots of gorgeous christmas gift wrapping ideas.

~ These would be a great little Kris Kringle gift to give to someone as they're unique and handmade. They would dress up anyone's home.

Have you got any Christmas D.I.Y ideas?

Mars Bar Slice Recipe

Hi Everyone! I have been making my Mars Bar Slice recipe for quite some time now and some people have asked me how to make it. My secret ingredient is using Cadbury chocolate as the top layer instead of cooking chocolate because Cadbury chocolate tastes SO much better. I thought I'd share my recipe so you can enjoy the delicious treats at home.

Makes: approx 25 (it all depends on how big you cut them up)

Prep & Cooking time: approx 30mins

Setting time: Min 3hrs

Ingredients:

1 bag of 12 mini mars bars
1 350g block of Cadbury Chocolate (or use two 200g blocks if you like more chocolate on top)
90g butter
3 cups of rice bubbles

Instructions:

1. Melt all 12 mini mars bars (cut up) and butter (cut up) in a saucepan over another saucepan filled with water on the stove.

2. While this is melting, cut or break up all the Cadbury chocolate & set aside then pour the 3 cups of rice bubbles in a big bowl.

3. There's a bit of mixing involved to make sure the mars bars and butter combine. Once it looks smooth with no lumps pour it over the rice bubbles and mix, mix, mix until the rice bubbles aren't white and they are evenly covered in the mars bar/butter mixture.

4. Transfer the mixed mars bars/butter/rice bubbles into a prepared slice tray, even out with a wooden spoon and set aside.

5. Melt all the chocolate in the same saucepan as the mars bars and butter. Then pour over the rice bubbles and smooth out with a spoon.

TIP: Drop the tray onto the bench a few times (from not too high!) and this should help even out the chocolate layer.

6. Put this into the fridge and let it set for at least 3 hrs. Remove, cut up & ENJOY!

Let me know if you make it and if it was a success

Anyone hungry for some M&M's?

Wow I haven't posted anything in a while so here's a post about some nails I did a while back. I have always wanted to do this nail art design but never got around to it. I thought that now is the time! And to top it off, it was so easy and effective! To achieve this manicure I picked five M&M's colors - yellow, green, orange, brown and red. I painted each colour on and once they were dry I drew the M's on with my white nail polish and my dotting pen. As always I add a top coat to finish it off and that's it really! I wished that my 'M's' turned out a bit better but otherwise I like this as a quick manicure. You could do the same with Skittles. Pick 5 of the Skittles colours and the instead of whie M's you do S's. That would look very cute.

What do you think of this manicure?
